I've got one - introduction and a couple of questions

Featured Replies

Hello. I've just purchased an Estelle and would like to say "thank you" for having such a great forum, it's been a super resource.

It's a 130 LSE, 1986, with the 20th anniversary coachline ("Skoda 20"), China Blue, with a grey vinyl roof, 45,000 miles, in what appears to be an excellent condition inside and out, with only few minor niggles that I look forward to resolving. The 350 mile journey home (!) went without any problems. I'll post photos if anyone's interested.

However, I would ask a couple of questions, if I may.

- There are a few small bits and pieces of a cosmetic nature that are missing or need replacing (eg. door bin, door handle inserts, chrome roof rail). Is E-Bay the best place to search, or is there an alternative?

- Out of interest, are there figures on the number of Estelles/130s on the road today? It's ages since I've seen one and it did turn a few heads on the motorway. And is the 20th anniversary edition anything special?

Thank you,

did you buy one one on ebay from falmouth

looked nice

good luck with it from another who has recently bought one!!

Ebay can be good...theres a supplier on there called boroskoda who sells some very rare stuff, but at fairly high prices. Your main contact should be Graham at Jorily spares (he is on ebay and has a website). He can get almost anything new for them still. He has a place in CZ and ships across once a fortnight.

I take it you bought Myke Pococks car? I kept thinking about it, but didnt really have the time or space.

CornishWrestler, full marks, it was the Falmouth one from E-Bay.

HawkeRacing, sorry, not from "Myke Pococks", but thank you for the recommendation, I'll make a list of bits and pieces and contact them.

Second recommendation for Jorily, and wait for DaveRapid to post in this thread!

Here was me thinking an anniversary 20 car was rare......and now theres 2 for sale at the same time!!!:D

If you are going down the tuning route then speedpro in cz have sent me a few tasty bits and they have an english translation (of sorts) on their site....but it takes a while to get things from them (a month for my last order!)

Congratulaions on owning a very special breed of car! Feel free to give me a shout if you need help with anything, and remember to join Freedom and the Owners' Club for ultimate Skoda pleasure! I have a fair amount of used parts, and Jorily is your man for new parts. Do you live anywhere near Chatham? I have a friend who is a fellow RWD Skoda nut that lives there. Call in and see me at the garage in Royston, Herts if you're out that way.

Ooh another one on here ... welcome on board

Don't forget the national meet on Sun 12 July
