A workmate has a vRS tdi 57 plate and today the car stopped making the usual bleep when he locks the doors, the central locking still works fine but no bleep! Is it anything to do with the alarm? Or any ideas, he is computer illiterate so I said I would ask the question on his behalf.

Check all doors, boot and bonnet are firmly shut.

If the alarm doesnt beep, and you get no indicator flash, then the car thinks something is still open. usual suspect is a faulty boot switch. Dealer should see diag error codes
