Typical 2.0TDi (PD 140) output on Rolling Road?

Featured Replies

Just wondering what the normal power output is for the 2.0TDi PD on a rolling road. Is this engine like some of the other modern turbo diesels that produce considerably more than their rated output?

Any of you folks had a standard 2.0TDi 140PS on a rolling road, and what was your figure?

mines ran 156 and then 155 at two different RR's, although I think they both where a little optimistic, although, performance wise, on the road it was actually a little quicker than a 150 CDTI vectra a friend had, so who knows...

Cheers for that daz - heading up to Ai Autosport on Saturday morning to kill off half the population of Randlestown with smoke on the rollers no doubt. :) The 140PD feels stronger than the 1.9CDTi-150 Vauxhall engines I'm used to.

Does this help?

Totally standard using normal derv from the local sainsbury and with an OEM paper filter in.

Both of my PD140s have been quicker than a certain Astra SRI 1.9 CDTI 150 which on paper should be considerably faster.

The PD140 loaner I had was also very rapid, on a par with a PD170 through certain 'benchamark' tests I ran.

Nice. :) Preliminary tests today were reading around 170hp, but the rollers were playing up so I'm not going to say that's a final figure until the dyno is recalibrated and another run performed. These rollers are highly regarded, and seem to run dead on with known accurate engines (Clio 172/182 always run exactly on power and the rollers read almost identical to factory figures in the past with those cars).

The car definitely goes much better than 140hp would suggest - not unlike the 170hp vRS I've had the past few days at work. The vRS' gear ratios are different, but in 5th the overtaking is similar to what the Lancer will achieve.

I've compared the Lancer's engine to both the 140PS and 170PS units in Octavias, and the inlet, turbo and vacuum systems are totally different, only the block looks similar. Seems Mitsubishi heavily modifies the standard TDi lump for their own uses.

No update as yet, was up at the place on Tuesday (ordering a big-brake kit!) but they were mapping a car on the rollers at the time.

I will update as soon as I get new figures.
