noise from the front, drivers side...

Featured Replies

these Octavia's are noisy mind aren't they...

got a cracking/knocking type noise from the front right, seems to be near where the pedals are or in the wheel arch area, it's when I accelerate or brake (car lifts/drops) not so much when I go over a speed bump although it can sometimes be heard then.

I've done my searching and the common one is arb bushes or even the bar itself

What else could it be, I'm happy to whack another bar and new bushes on but not if its not gonna fix it...or is the safest place to start??

the noise seems to go, or maybe just get quieter in the wet

any ideas/help is always appreciated...

You are in the right place I think and if not the ARB or bushes, I am suspecting the ARB link arms that have ball joints on each end that are fixed to the ARB and suspension struct. They are long thin bars around 335mm long and sometimes known as drop links, These are very comon problem and tend to get worse with time.(ball joint wears). They are especially noisy when going over bumps or dips in the road.

That my guess anyway
