....... Resprayed their 360 so it looks like an elite???

Was sat looking at mine yesterday thinking how out of place it looks with it being cream. Have found black faceplates on fleabay for around £5-7 and thought a tin of satin black paint would be around the same....... Hey presto Elite looking 360.

Ok i know it's not just a simple job and would mask of the area around any venting while spraying ther main body then hand paint around the vent holes to complete the job but figure i should get a similar look but at only a few quid.

Will see if i do it or not over the next few weeks.

Well i'd thought about repainting the rest of the AV stuff cream but it was too much hard work.

As for a PS3..... Why on earth would i want one of those 'orrible not so little things!!!!! with a p*** poor online service an all.

Just been online and seems quite a few people respray their 360's to match in with their surroundings.... Looks like the two most popular are pearl white and then elite style black.

I've ordered a black faceplate off ebay for a fiver and will get some paint from B&Q next week after i finish my nights Tuesday morning. I'll let you know how i get on next week.

I would need to buy the case removal tool to do that and if i took the case off it would be easier to just buy a replacement black case but then the cost goes up to around £40-odd quid. I'm going to mask off all the vent areas then spray paint then hand paint the vent areas after.

It is tempting to just go down the replacement case road but i'm also carrying out some other upgrades to the AV setup this coming month or two so the money is heading out to those projects instead hence me doing this one via the cheaper option. Plus i'll respray the ipod dock black at the same time so killing two birds with one stone.

You don't need the case tool to get the case off the 360. I've done it with a small electricians screwdriver, and a small allen key for poking. And maybe some some torx bits, but I can't remember if that was just for taking the internal metal shell apart.

The case is easy to get apart. Please don't buy the kit - There isn't any need for it.

There are many videos on youtube with how to do it.

Metal Gear Solid... On the 360? If Sony and the PS3 are doing so well then why would they be cross-platforming games? I don't see Forza 3 coming out the PS3!

It just so happens the BBC model B was out the other week during a sort out. Still have the Atari 2600 console, Commadore VIC20, Commadore 64, BBC model B, Atari ST1024, Mega drive, PS1, PS2 & Sega Gamegear in my possession along with the current stuff. :thumbup:

Our wardrobes are very fashionable i'll have you know.... Hand made by the previous house owner. :rofl::rofl:

Partly a "they'll be worth summat in the future" thing and partly a "can't bear to let them go" thing.

The new look AV setup will soon be complete what with new black 360 and ipod dock..... Upgraded SkyHD box and a lovely new Harmony to control everything with.... Might see about upgrading the amp too i know which one i want but think i've got some saving to do for that one though. Anybody want to buy an AV amp????
