Hi.

Just replaced the glass lenses on my MK1 Octy as they were cracked through and noticed that the reflector ( silver on plastic?) inside was dusty and slighlty corroded (dark spots) with leading to reduced light on the road.

What do people use to clean/repair the silver, without buying a new reflector?

Searching google leads to how to clean the glass lens, not the reflector.

Can't be done, the surface is too delicate, new headlight time I'm afraid.

If it's already new headlight time as the other option and you are going to go for it then it's worth trying a gentle attempt with the drop in silver cleaners.

You would need to take the headlight out immerse it in a bowl of water and silver cleaner solution then once cleaned let it dry before putting it back together.

Cleaned mine a while ago as one of the lights was a new one replaced when someone reversed into me and the old one looks dull compared the other so took it out and cleaned with star drops! lol
