Just Got My Edition 100

Featured Replies

Got my car today - Edition 100 2.5V6 TDi, 2006, 21k.

I'm gobsmacked.

Since I bought it 2 weeks ago (from Ireland, without ever having driven one) I've been fretting about whether I'd made the right decision trading my 2001 530i Sport in for it, how would I cope with the badge, would I miss the performance and ride etc etc.

What a waste of time. When I opened the door the first thing I noticed was the smell of leather. Then I drove it and it goes just like the 2 V6 TDi Passats I've had but the quality and toys really make it feel special - better than the Beemer which I never felt was very special inside anyway.

I've spent the night reading the manual and the attention to detail in the design is amazing.

It was either going to be this or an S Type diesel. I bought the Skoda because I felt it represented better value for money. I don't think I was wrong and I can see why everyone here is so enthusiastic about them.

I wish I still had my Superb....one of the best value for money largish cars around

Welcome to the forum and the Superb.............

Nice to hear some praising comments' in this forum on the Superb and I think to change from a BMW is a big step but I am glad you didn't opt for the Jag S Type as I just don't rate them............:thumbdwn:

The Edition 100 is the better of the Superb's models with all the toys and right combinations of colour both inside and outside............:D

Glad you like it and fair play..........

Pics would be good

The Superb wasn't my usual choice of car. I've had a few beemers, both 3 and 5 series and wasn't looking forward to owning a Skoda at first, I went for the sensible choice. My first post on the fourm here.

However it grew on me, after tinkering with the car a little it grew on me some more. Now I have to admit, the longer I own it, the more sense it makes and I'm happy with it. You get reasonable power, huge amounts of cabin/boot room, comfortable ride quality, good economy and a decent level of trim. I reckon the Mk1 Superb looks a lot better than the Mk2 as well.

As for the badge, anyone that laughs at the brand is living in the past mate. Glad you're liking yours. Stick with it.

Can't fault Skoda for their styling...

I came very close to getting one of these.

There were a couple that appeared just after I got the Fabia - if I'd seen them earlier I would probably have been tempted.

I think the Superb was the only Edition 100 that was sold in the UK, but just for the record here is the range brochure...

A friend of mine asked, "What kind of BMW is this?", when he sat in it for the first time.

I like my Ed 100 a lot.

I did see an Octavia Ed 100 in Italy a few weeks ago.

Is it the Auto you've got?

The car is an auto and I bought it from Northern Ireland without seeing it. 21k on the clock, one owner and dealer history. Looks very genuine. The only thing I can find wrong with it so far is that the front engine undertray is missing. Got underneath the car today and all looks fine. Did about 350 miles over the weekend and all good so far.

Things I'm impressed with: Leather is beautiful, much nicer than past BM or Passat, stylish touches like wing mirror downlights at night, interior illumination on things like handles and heater controls which again the BM didn't have, Bi Xenon's are fantastic and the kids love the rear seat room and heaters. The solar roof powering the fan does work and the car is cooler when you get into it on a hot day as a result.

There's nothing bad about the car but the lack of an easy fix for bluetooth is a surprise as I said before and looking at the sat nav I guess they could have used the more up to date widescreen MFD02 unit though I'm not that bothered.

In terms of value, I can't think of anything around the £11k (not far off what I paid) mark that offers anything like it in the large saloon stakes and offers the exclusivity this does. The car is a looker.

Thanks for putting the pics up, the undertray is a common loss and there is two - a front and a rear, I would reccommend getting them back on there as the engine bay will soon get dirty and they aid air flow............

Nice motor............
