what a thoroughly bloody nice bloke!

Featured Replies

couple of days ago im driving home from a LOOOONG day, very tired and what not, approaching a set of traffic lights, im doing 40 and the light goes to amber, usually these lights stay green for quite a while and id seen them turn green literally 5 seconds before so wasnt expecting to stop, so not being prepared and going abit too fast to slam on i roll through them only to look to my right to see a corsa police car, panic sets in as im not wearing my belt as the buckle part has broke, on being too busy panicking i roll through the next light which has just turned red, all i see is blue lights as i start to go round the bend, ****, thats it, points fine etc etc. by the way i dont know whats in them corsas but jesus christ did he catch up to me quickly, so he pulls me over, i get out and he asks me what i did wrong, i said i know im a complete tit and im sure you hear this all the time but i never chance lights or speed about, he tells me off, says youre big enough to admit youre wrong and you havnt got an attitude so prepare to stop at green in future and enojy the rest of your evening!! i was so relieved i had to stop myself hugging him:D

my first real ****tish move ive been pulled for in 4.5 years of driving!!!

Not all police are out to get you. Mind you, not wearing a belt is quite a biggie to be let off with. Must have been your lucky day.

Never mind getting away with running a light - the buckle part of your seatbelt has broken?!

Do you not think it might be a good idea to get that sorted?

Corsa?

I'd have floored it and waited for a real car to pull you.

You've been lucky. Very lucky!!

You've happened upon one of two breeds of copper. Either he hates traffic because he disagrees with the principals OR he hates traffic because he doesn't know how to issue a ticket! There are those that pride themselves on never having issued a traffic ticket.

I'd have got at least one ticket out of you!! Seat belts are rare to get away with these days regardless of the reason as we see the consequences of not wearing them too often.

:iagree:

And as a matter of urgency.

A quick reminder anyway -

:iagree:

Clunk, clip. Every trip

I also was lucky and got stopped by a non-traffic one night. He boasted that I was lucky I didn't get stopped by traffic as they are all "*******" (his words). He told me my car was nice and sent me on my way. Just as the OP, I explained myself in a matter of fact fashion, apologised and didn't give him any attitude. It does pay to be nice.

it literally went a day before, it was a sunday, no scrappers open, local rover parts place was closed, funny thing is though i was wrapping it round myself until i realised if i crash it will slice me in half!! what a dumb thing to do!

The Attitude test is a big factor in deciding how you get dealt with. Even when you get a complete twonk of a Copper on a power trip (as i have had in the past) it's best to bite your lip show them a bit of (even if its false) respect and generally they will let you off with a warning.

So is it fixed now?

That happened to me before and I pulled the belt across myself then fed the passenger one through it and clipped the passenger buckle into the driver's clip.

That held quite well until I got a part.

Bloody Fiat Strada.
