Radio Software coding with VAG-COM

Featured Replies

I have a Symphony head unit (Cassette model 1U0 035 161 D) which has just come back from being repaired.

The radio dash lights and the key on/off no longer worked and the unit turned itself off after 60 minutes.

Diagnosing the unit with my VAG-COM gave three error codes (01317 - 00855 & 01336 ) and the software coding installed was 00407.

I have changed the software coding to 00000 and the error codes are now cleared and the radio now functions correctly.

Does anyone know what the software coding should be for this radio, both with and without an external CD unit?

Also if anyone has this model of radio installed in their car with an external 6 CD unit, and have VAG-COM can they please interogate their radio module with VAG-COM and advise me what software coding they have in their unit.

Many thanks

Following a post regarding this topic on another forum, I have now obtained the following information regarding the Symphony software coding.

I hope this will be of use to others.

I am not sure whether this should be a sticky in this or the ICE forum.

The link has details of all the software coding for other VAG group radios but it is in German and has to be translated.

Thanks for all the info! It's really appreciated as my head unit has had the exact symptoms you described in your first post since I got the car. I tried VAGcom last night and it solved the problem.
