Hi folks, my MK1 octy suffered an overheat caused by a bad fan, the big one on left, from driver view.

I changed the fan and the car is fine, but the air cond. system works sometimes, the fans turn off and the compressor stops, i can´t hear the fan at high speed but yes the slow one. what is the cause?

Sounds to me like a gas related problem and its cutting out on low pressure. would get the gas charge checked and go from there.

Yeah, if the aircon is stopping, then check the gas charge, and if it's not that VCDS the heating system (esp if Climatronic fitted).

The gas charge is fine, checked last week. I´m thinking about a temperature sensor on radiator

Any advice?

If the aircon is intermittent, but the car's not overheating, then the problem is either the aircon mixer box controls (not the front panel) or the compressor clutch I think.
