Had the vRS detailed!

Featured Replies

Not had my vRS long - but decided to get a proper detail done by Optimal Shine over the weekend - took best part of two days!

Anyway, I have a couple of pics from my camera phone when I pciked it up, more pictures from a digi camera will appear when the detail chaps send me them...

Its a shame the weather was against them a bit as it looks stunning, all the swirl marks and minor scratches are gone :)

Just need my new wheels and coilovers now! ;)

Looks Sweet dude i think a detail is always money well spent

Thanks :) - i'm very impressed with it, just not with my picture skills, its made his hard work look a bit odd and no sun to show of the shine! They did my Ibiza for Ultimate Dubs in 2007 too :D

Looks nice. You will just need to keep on top of it now :)

Shouldn't be too bad, they aren't based too far away from me so could always pop in a get the car washed by them each time ;)

just need some nice wheels and a bit of lowering now:thumbup:

Looking good!

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay and exactly how much did they do? :)

Looks excellent :D

Thanks for all the replies :)

Its getting colour coded handles, chrome grill and number plate surround next week then wheels and coilovers at the weekend hopefully :D

Sam is the chaps name, website is being developed and he is based in Kent, about 15 mins from me in Tunbridge Wells.

They did the following:

Wash, Clay, Snow Foam, Wash, Dry, Removed 'fabia' badge from the rear, Full Cutting stage, half cut stage, polish stage, sealant stage and two layers of wax, sealed the wheels and door shuts/plastics etc, metal polished the exhaust pipe, tyres dressed... think that's it! :) Inside is pretty mint and I wasn't too worried about it as I can do it.

Cost wise was £180, he had the car for friday afternoon and all day saturday :)

It does look a job well done, but I'd have trouble parting with that much cash for a detail, 100 tops and im aware of how much work goes in to it, Its probably just me being a tight git :)

That is an excellent price for a detail. Typical prices are 400 to 800 quid for a correction detail.

Agreed. And in response to 'flands' - £100?! That's a good valet mate, not a detail.

Steve

I was quoted £200 for a 1-day basic detail on my vRS but I spent the money on an alloy refurb instead as after talking to a couple of detailers I don't think my paint is all that bad. I'd be massively suspicious of handing my car over to anyone who didn't value their time highly. £200 a day for a skilled person incl. materials and the use of their expensive equipment sounds pretty cheap actually.

It is expensive to have the car detailed, but as said above, for the amount of time spent and products used as long as its kept looking like it does now it shouldn't need doing again :)

He did mention checking it once a year for a top up, I had the Ibiza topped up every 6-9 months and then again for each of the VW shows etc I went to! :D

Had a call from detailer to say pics on memory card being dropped round tonight, so if i'm on the ball they'll be posted later!

I'm very happy with the finish, can see so much pearl in the paint now! Washed it today as got very dusty, no swirls :D

Forgot to put their contact details if anyone is interested :)

They used to be called TnS Detailing but have recently changed names...

Also had this done...

Door handles, number plate surround, chrome grill and headlight bits all in Black Magic :)

Just so you're aware, your reg isn't blanked in the detailing photos so hiding the first two letters from this newest photo doesnt hide much.

Nice mean stance to the front, just need a cupra splitter now too :)
