DPF Problems

Recommended Posts

Hello I have Octavia 2 VRS TDI Registered March 2008.

Over past 8 months 6 seperate occurances of DPF warning light coming on. Following clearance procedures detailed in owners manual but to no avail. Engine then switches to limp home mode with limited power. Dealt with by Hortons of Lincoln or Skoda Assist (RAC) but the problem keeps returning. Daily commute 70miles over open roads so it's not as if car used on lots of short runs. Third Skoda in a row, previous two models of reliability. Have I just got a friday afternoon job? Anybody with similar experiences or advice?

Cheers :(

Had lots of problems. Had the software upgrade and new sensor - but the problem did not go away and the eventual conclusion was a new DPF - either the lease company or Skoda paid (I dont know which). That was at circa 23,000 miles and its now done 33,000 and not had a problem since. But I dont buy supermarket fuel anymore - dont know if it was the problem or not.

I've heard a couple of people having problems, and it seems coincidence that supermarket fuel has been used, maybe nothing but I stick to Shell. Even drove past a supermarket with the trip computer reading 0 miles left to get to a Shell.

I've had a problem before but had the exhaust pressure sensor replaced and the software updates. Has been spot on ever since, just runs it's normal purge cycle now, very occasionally.

I mainly fill up at Shell. Sometimes at a very high volume Tesco. Ones I avoid are really quiet independent places, the fuel must be sitting in their tanks for so long. I've never had the DPF light come on. I have 26E6 update.
