Featured Replies

Help! just reversed off my folks driveway tonight and the EPC dash light came on. tried turning the engine off and on again a couple of times and CEL light came on too! eek!

took it straight round to a mates and hooked up his Mac Tools hand held diagnostic doofer came up with P0601 (16985) Engine Control Module. reset straight away but the EPC light came back on within in seconds of driving home!

there is no loss in power and the car feels the same as always! i was meant to be driving from Nottingham to glastonbury on wednesday but i'm a bit reluctant now.

gonna try to get her booked into skoda tomorrow but if i can't.......any ideas? should i still be driving it?

Is it a TDI VRS?

If so had a similar thing a couple of months back.... nothing to worry about just needed a ECU update/flash.

Just drive as normal

its a petrol unit but hopefully the same fault!

how long it take to fix?

Not long, just a software upload via VAG-COM I presume...

No big deal...... never heard of such issues with a TFSI though?

I'm in Mansfield, pop round and I'll have a proper look with VCDS if you like? Are you under warranty? Is your car remapped?

new ecu needed. about £1500 fitted. glad i bought that warranty now!!!!!

Nice! I would have thought they'd try reflashing it first, but if it's under warranty you might as well have the whole thing!
