Like a daft T---t i put £20 orf petrol in the furby TDi tonight, I havnt run it, What is the easiest way of emptying the tank, as i cant get the tank of on the drive

pump it out at the filter, i was always brought up on the understanding that a drop of petrol in diesel does it a bit of good, i used to put 15 pounds of petrol into my vrs then fill her to the throat with derv, but now our petrol station has performance diesel so never looked back? might be a bit harder to start with the petrol in it, if you got 10 litres out and filled her with diesel

Ive tries syphoning it at the filter but it wont come out, ive even tried at the pipe conection in front if the tank. When i put the ignition on it pumps for about 5 seconds, but then stops

Not sure on the Fabia, but under the rear seats is often a cover, which when removed gives you access to the tank sender unit. My mate did the same on his Laguna and we pumped the fuel out with a hand pump with the sender unit out.

Silly question, but if you haven't run it, how did you get it home from the garage?

Or if you know you put 20 quids worth in, how do you know?

Got it out in the end, by 529 turns on of the ignition, All the 5 second bursts of fuel from the tank have emptied it. Just got to get a filter tomorrow and a tank of diseasel

Give it a dose of millers, and drive it like you stole it for about 20 miles ( and a new fuel filter to be sure ).

I understeered in the wet and caught a curb awhile back. It was nothing major and was sorted a day or two later . . . yet there's an a**e who just wont let it go in work!

It will never stop, i dont give her ammo very often. car now sorted, new filter new fuel, goes like **** now

Real easy way is to take the supply line of the filter and put 12v to the pump, away it goes.

There are such devises out there. Ford have one on there new cars that will only accept a diesel nozzle and there are several after-market devises to prevent miss-fuelling. See:
