Is my warranty still valid?

Featured Replies

I bought the car new last July. Well I looked in the service book today and it says the car needs a service at 1 year, or at 10,000 miles. Well I've done 13,000 miles and the maxidot display hasn't flashed up to tell me that a service is/was due.

Where does this leave me? (hopefully not up a certain creek as I have no paddle!)

One year/10,000 miles is the interval for a 'Fixed' Service. It may well be, most likely if you bought the car new, that your service interval is set to 'Variable' that gives a Two year/c.18,000 mile interval.

Have a look at the big sticker in the front of the Service book; on the bottom left corner (I think) it should show QG1 or QG2 this tells you what regime the car is set to from the factory (can't remember which way around it is though). Refer to the handbook for further info.

Also; you can check exactly when your next service is due on the Maxidot.

If you switch off the engine by turning the ignition key just one 'notch'; then press and hold the trip meter button for more than two seconds; the maxi dot will change display to something like - Service due, 4,800 miles or 389 days.

QG1 is the code for variable servicing :)

Just checked the service book - the coded sticker says QG1 so not due yet.

Thank you once again for your help

Did you check the maxidot prediction?

Did you check the maxidot prediction?

No as I didn't need to turn the engine on. I tried pressing the maxidot buttons having just turned on the ignition, but they didn't do anything. I'll have a look tonight having driven home.
