Grinding transmission on Fabia?

Featured Replies

I'm hoping this isn't serious, but since I got my Furby vRS, there's been a sort of grinding / scraping noise at a particular point in the rev range (not the reversing brakes thing - this happens going forwards...) It seems to be related to engine speed not road speed, which is what makes me think it's something to do with the transmission. It sounds a bit like the brakes on a bike rubbing on a buckled wheel. I've had the car 750 miles now, so I would have thought that any sticky bits would have started to wear down by now.

Half of me thinks it's just me not being used to the noise from a diesel engine, but the other half of me wonders if it's actually really bad, like something's unbalanced deep in the bowels of the gearbox...

Any ideas?

Take it back & get it checked over.

That's what the warranty is for :)
