Facelift Octavia review

Featured Replies

Tomorrow morning i will be giving back a facelift Octavia back to work after using it for 3 days. The car is a 1.9TDI finished in metallic silver and has been spec'd with xenon's, bolero headunit and some alloy wheels, when the car was dropped off it was already at 8,553 miles and have now taken the car to 9,190 miles, not bad for a car that is only 3 months old.

My only gripes with the car are that the bolero head unit and the indicator lights are as useful as a chocolate fireguard when hit by sunlight, plus it helps that the indicator noise is so quiet you forget to turn them off. There was two randow dash rattles one around the glovebox and one around the bottom of the instrument cluster, unfortunetely this wasn't as half as annoying as the tyre roar over bad roads. The wierdest one was the floor hinged accelerator pedal was set 2-3 inches back from the brake pedal so made any sort of heal toe/ quick braking action impossible.

Although it took a bit of time the seat was comfortable and the car performed faultlessly during the three days i've had it, the two foot rests for the drivers were a nice touch as well. I know most cars will have it but the folding mirrors and the auto close electric windows was a nice touch on the door locking.

Overall i wouldn't be massively upset if i was given it to keep by my work but i still would wish for a bigger engine as my fabia feels so much faster than it.

Mike
