Very quick and easy exhaust question

Featured Replies

This seems obvious but I've never had a custom exhaust made up and I'm no mechanic!

I want a full system and have decided on either Blueflame or Milltek from reviews on here and other friends who already have them.

I e-mailed one company for a quote and asked for a quote, on either make, for a full system from the downpipe back including cat.

They then quoted me on a 'cat back' system. Is what I'm after a 'turbo back' system rather than a 'cat back'? And why have they quoted me that? Is it because the downpipe and cat are bought elsewhere perhaps and would be separately priced?

Cheers

miltec do a turbo back zorst either with or without a cat

i was recomended not to go for the cat option and it was cheaper

The Octy vRS needs the cat to pass the MOT and if decatted will bring on warning lights as there are 2 lambda probes on there

Awesome > Exhausts

Have a look at that link I have sent for some prices.....

If it helps , we have free fitting on at the moment too , or free postage ;)

Is replacing the cat a major part of the power gains then?

What sort of gains would I expect replacing the downpipe and getting a Cat-back system without replacing the cat, as opposed to replacing the cat as well.

Ah just re-read digital dwarf's post. Do you mean actually run the car without a cat or just stick with the standard one?

An illegal car is not a possibility in my profession!!

Hi

He has a Fabia vRS , and is deisel and they dont have issues with emmisions or problems with warning lights on dash

So all will be OK on diesels , not petrols though , Sorry :(

Sarah

Any part of the standard system left in will be restrictive and power will not be as good as it could be. The standard cat will have around 4-500 cels, a performance one will have 1-200 cels so less restriction.
