Vibrations at Motorway Speeds

Featured Replies

Hi All

I've got a Fabia VRS with 47000 miles on it. Been experiencing some vibrations through the steering wheel and also a little through the car when i'm getting upto motorway speeds but only sometimes. It normally occurs as i'm driving at 70mph or especially when i accelerate and then stops once i ease off on the accelerator.

I'm thinking it could be as simple as the wheels need balancing but also a little concerned it could be the DMF? Although acceleration upto 60mph and sometimes above it absolutely fine.

I had new tyres two months ago and thought it was fine after that, so could it possibly be the back wheels instead of front?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated?

Hi Chris

I would say that it could be the wheel balance

may be worth getting them done before you spend any more money

DMF`s can cause issues , but rather than go down that route , choose the cheaper option , and that is balancing tyres

All

Just to conclude the thread... it looks like the wheels did need balancing. Got it done on Saturday and all feels good once more.

Lucky it was the wheels needing balanced. Thanks for reporting the fix.
