New member - Skoda Rapid Probs!

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am more used to rear engine Renaults but have just bought a beautiful 1988 Rapid Coupe. It has only done 16,000 miles from new but unfortunately it has some issues and I need some help! For starters the front brakes keep locking on and I am going to have to replace the master cylinder. Because the front wheels are getting so hot the grease is melting in the wheel bearings and coming out behind the disc onto the wheel. I am hoping to get the assembly off the hub in the next few days as I need to get grease back into the bearing. My question is, where can I get the seal to stop the grease coming out the back of the hub? Once I have sorted the brakes I don't want the bearings to overheat and cause more probs.

With thanks,

Rustyrenault!

Search 'Jorily Skoda' on google or check out his eBay shop.

Where abouts are you??

I had a similar issue with front brakes but just cleaned the pistons, lubricated and worked them in and out a few times. That sorted it.

Thank you for replying, I'm in East Sussex.

Hope to start on the car tomorrow.

Welcome :)

Hiya.

Check out the RWD Skodas forum, expect messages from various people, and as noted, try Jorily for parts.
