This is the latest info just received from my local dealer.

The Full leather at £800.00 will i am sure be a welcome option for anyone with small kids who's dirty feet just reach the light coloured front section of the standard seats!

New Octavia vRS

With a redesigned front grille and headlamps, the new vRS has a sportier, more aggressive styling compared to the outgoing model, at no extra cost. Prices for the new Octavia vRS are:

As well as the new look, the vRS offers additional standard specification – daylight running lights with LED lamps, and new 18” Neptune alloy wheels.

The engine range is the same, and now conforms to Euro V (5) emission standards. The only change to the engine data is an improvement in CO2 output for the 2.0 TDI CR 170bhp of 5g/km from 155g/km to 150g/km. This changes the VED band from G to F and reduces the VED charge by £25.

In addition to the existing option list, the new Octavia vRS is available with the following options:

  • Supreme leather seats: perforated black leather seats which are outstanding value at £800RRP
  • Xenon headlights with integrated washers and AFS II (adaptive front light system): this innovative front light system is available for the first time on the vRS range and is priced at £700 in conjunction with the xenon headlights and integrated washers

Details of the new Octavia vRS will be published in the Q3 pricelists which will reach us at the beginning of July so as soon as we receive these I will send one out to you so that you can see how the vehicle look with standard equipment lists etc.

I'd ditch the thought of the Xenons, buy some Philips X-Tremes at £25, and put the money saved into the leather seats (assuming they look as good as the LE, that is)

I am confused by the drop in CO2 for the 2.0 CR TDi - the existing model is 150gm ...............!

I have just come back from the Cardiff dealer to be told they are not allowed to order new VRs at the moment.... the car shown on the order screen is also the same price as the non-facelift (as per brochure)

so i have walked away frustrated..... hopefully he will come back to me tomorrow with some more positive news

I have showed that to the dealer and he doesn't understand it.... ?

off to call another dealer and Skoda UK

Good news, you are able to order the new Facelift Octavia on 1st July and the lease company will let me put the order through and by the time it gets authorised the dealer can order on the 1st..... meaning I can order for the current prices

I order a facelift vRS months ago, it's turning up this week. Yay!

It's a Brilliant Silver vRS TSi DSG Estate with pretty much all the options bar sunroof and leather.

Perhaps its different for Dealers ordering cars for 'Showrooms'.... both local dealers have now confirmed that they can be ordered, but not through the system until 1st July 2009.

I have also just checked with Skoda UK and all the option prices are valid and can still be found in the latest brochure (1st April - 30th June)

When I see the Leather prices on the new vRS - I realise what a bargain these leather seats are on the pre-facelift LE :

Anyone got any images of the new leather in the facelift VRS?

This brochure has been out a while (its not the UK one) but does show some pics of what appears to be the leather seats.

Details in this brochure are not the same as the uk dealers have on their systems however so dont take it as read until the UK one is published.

Where in the world are the 17'' wheels standard?

You can tell that this is not a UK brochure! I love this line...

AND A FATHER, TAKE SOME TIME TO BE A MAN

The leather seats in the brochure look identical to the current leather option :

Skoda Octavia 2.0 T FSI vRS 5-Dr Hatchback#

Which still nice are a league below the LEs black leather seats.

I think even 30 years ago that would have sounded naff in this country. Do women need permission from 'their man' to even drive a vRS in Skodaland then, as I assume they are banned from buying one. Do yoou think they also throw in a complimentary bottle of Brut 33, or maybe even Jovan Sex Appeal?!

This sort of nonsense would go down a storm in places like Saudi though - makes you wonder if they are after a new export market doesn't it!

I am currently considering changing my 07 vrs diesel for a newer petrol model. My local dealer has contacted me and said that that he can do one of the petrol facelift models, in an estate, with rear parking sensors (the only option i want), for £18300. Obviously that is a saving, however, this would be my first time buying a brand new car.

My question is, should I be able to haggle any more discount and if so, how much?

That's his first offer. Ask for a lower price and see what he says. Contact another dealer and ask for their best offer saying you've had this offer. Repeat.

Remember, it's not the price he's offering as you have a part exchange, its the cost to change that's important when weighing one deal against another.

Have you considered the Limited Edition, there are/were some stunning deals on in June, there is still stock dotted around the UK I believe. See the LE Flickr thread on the forum.

I did, although was under the impression that only diesels were left. Will have another look, thanks.

Also, just realised that the LE petrol was not available in the estate. So got to be a facelift then.

From my experience of just ordering a facelift vRS (diesel hatch - list price is virtually the same as the petrol estate), if the car is in metallic with parking sensors, I would think that around another £1000 off may be possible (also depends what they offer you as a part ex though, as it is the price to change that is important).

I am not sure if all dealers are able to offer this as I called a couple and they did not have any deals available. Give Simpsons of Preston a call

My first brand new car as well :)

saw a race blue FL vrs in Telfords, Carlisle today and really love the new front end. Almost makes me wish we had waited a little while before getting the one we have
