coil packs

Featured Replies

Had a remap from JBS a few weeks ago and last week had a coil pack go. It was replaced under warranty with a new R version, coil 3 had gone qs i checked with my vagcom but noticed the new coil was placed in position 2 so im guessing they swapped it round to diag.

Had a coil goa gain this evening, again vagcom shows cyl3 and an implusable signal from 2.

would it be in my best interest to bit the bullet and buy 4 new R revision coils?

Had one go on mine followed by another about a fortnight later, replaced them with aftermarket one's still ran awful so bit the bullet and bought 4 new one's from the Skoda they were a fiver each cheaper and the car ran loads better, definitely a worthwhile investment.

It does seem to be that when car gets remapped the coils start going.

I have a set of the hitachi bolt down ones for sale if anyone interested.

Well I did not want another to go on me so I opened the wallet and bought 4 brand new vag ones. They are all the R revision made in Germany, the coil pacls i took out were all A revision one looked bent for some reason.

I had one go last week. Was cylinder 4's that went, which is typically the most difficult to get out. Seems that the rest were original and had been on the car for quite a while. Had a remap 5 months ago but doubt this caused this one to go.

I had 2 go within a week of each other so purchased a full set and the 2 old working one now live in the boot as spares. Seems that as soon as one goes, the rest will soon follow
