my weekend was spent enjoying a peaceful float down a calm river in Golden, British Columbia....

yes that is a railway line they are playing on, unfortunately many perish each year scavenging for grain which is dropped from the rail cars. shame

that's the second time we've done it, just such a laugh :D

got very lucky with the bears, two of them about 200m apart. always fantastic to see them :cool:

oh, and the guy "driving" is from Queenstown.....

did the same thing in 1994 - was brilliant

the guide told us there was a section we could jump in a float along behind the boat if we wanted - i was the only one to go in. no-one told me it took a few minutes to warm up in a wetsuit. the water was glacial cold, i couldn't breathe for about 30s

that's the place! i resisted the temptation to willingly die of hypothermia, but my pal in the front row didn't. fool :D
