Tom, I agree about the overall condition of the car and if I'd taken the time to clean the brake pipes up before it went for the MOT I'm sure we might have JUST got away with it - but not once he failed it. Besides, as we were going on track I thought it best that the braking system was in as good a condition as possible.

Advisories were rear brake pad wear levels, we replaced those late on Wednesday night. Now the car is completely roadworthy, and no MOT advisories are outstanding.

And it was fantastic fun on track yesterday according to Craig. I didn't drive it as I was used to the Fabia's handling characteristics and am saving myself for a BMW-specific track day later in the year

Where the fabia was pulling an indicated 95 (probably genuine 91 in the Fabia) the BMW was pulling an indicated 110 or 112 by the end of the long straight, and the BMW's speedo is pretty much smack on accurate for some reason!

V impressed and still sure we got a complete bargain off you mate
