Hello

Does anyone know what the part number is for the alternator fitted to my car 1999 Skoda Octavia 1.9 TDi (90bhp) estate manual. I've tried to find a part number on the current unit as installed, but can't see that much of it, and don't really want to start taking it to bits to find the number as I'm using the car everyday..

I can supply the VIN and/or Reg number is anyone has a parts catalogue against these.

Also where's the best place to get an alternator from.. I'm sort of assuming that the cost of a new OEM from the local dealer is going to be in the 300-400 quid range, so am happy with recon ones.. or one from a scrappy if it's cheap enough
