is it me or does this thing look the mutts nuts.

its still in the development phase i believe but not to far away from production. gains of 14bhp plus available, the top filter is getting air rammed in from the slot in the front slam panel and the bottom one is getting air from the below the headlight.

My question is though, i know more air is good but can you get to much air being rammed into the engine.

with 2 carbon covered filters and that chrome piping im also dubious as to how it is going to compete in price with evoms, Vf etc,

Hmmmm

I'd want to see the proof of the gains with that system but it does look good.

Also i think the EVOMS provides enough air into the engine. But i suppose this system could be useful for KO4. Not sure if it will fit behind the Octy Headlights due to the cover on the back of the headlight. But will wait until i see one in the flesh to decide.

IIRC the evoms is proved to provide around 8-10bhp, so this would have to provide at least another 4-6bhp on top of that to make it a worthwhile mod in place of the proven manufacturers

I think it's hidious personally. Looks far too OTT and I doubt it will provide that much if any gain over my current EVOMs setup.

Still, I'm sure the quality (as always with Forge :)) will be top notch

Yup that was my argument too Harry. I would want to see the gains myself on an independant dyno.

It may give that sort of gain with KO4 and a few other mods.

Sy - Yup proven gains on EVOMS is 10bhp and 15-20lb/ft depending on software

To be honest 4-6 bhp (unless your chasing numbers for bragging rights) wouldn't justify the cost of that setup if it's more than EVOMS

Ram air could help out at high speed, but you'd need a real scoop for that, i.e. a direct opening towards the front of the car.

it is using the scoop that the standard intake uses so it will achieve ram air intakje effects with the top filter, and the bottom one looks to be being used like a normal CAI

just been reading on the golfmkv forum, there is a thread with forgeUSA answering questions that makes an interesting read, Forge's New Intake - VW GTI Forum / VW Rabbit Forum / VW R32 Forum / VW Golf Forum - Golfmkv.com

and a review of a brit jonnyC from the mk5 forum who has had one installed on his edition 30 which is running stupid power. not liking his gold taping

thats very true but it also depends on the cost difference. if you already have an evoms, i doubt it would make sense to swap for the forge twintake.

im reserving my thoughts for a little bit as i got a second hand ram air intake for peanuts so i wouldnt be wasting that much money,

ill consider it at a later date if we can get dynos with before and after results. and they are good,

if i was to get it though, i would want it in matt black, with no chrome though
