im currently considering the purchase of a mk1 octavia vrs, what im asking is for advice on the car i.e, troublesome issues, what to look out for when buying and just general advice before if buy one.

Do a search in this forum for "vRS buying guide" or similar sentence and it should come up with a few threads. One day we will all get round to writing a buying guide, I promise!

i have owned 2 mk1 octavia vrs's. All i would say is make sure its proparly serviced. if around 50k + make sure its had its cam belt & water pump changed or be prepared to get a big garage bill when you do it. Drivers footwells can also sometimes be wet. Good releable cars with little or no problems in my experience with them.
