Part Number Request

Featured Replies

Does anybody have the part numbers for the non HID and the HID headlights.

I am wondering if they have different projector lenses in them or not. It just seems a bit odd that there is the huge area behind the Halogen light for a ballast etc to screw down.

I'm not sure if the actual lenses are different but the back is, the reason is that the D1S xenon bulb and ignitor are screwed in so the rear of the lens unit differs from the halogen unit (which the bulbs are only held in by a retaining clip.)

Part numbers are;

1Z2 941 017 L and 1Z2 941 018 L for Halogen (L/H and R/H respectively)

1Z2 941 017 E and 1Z2 941 018 E for Xenon

The rear covers are the same for both types, probably just to simplify things during production.

Hope this helps, Gary

When you say screwed in do you mean to the reflector behind the projector or screwed in to the rear cover?

I have a rear cover, with the screw holes and have wondered if the parts are the same before.

Since the only difference is the L and E suffix, I think I'm going to have to do some digging to find out more.

On xenons the bulb is screwed into the reflector behind the projector lens and connected by a cable to the ballast, which is screwed into the rear cover.

Are you considering a full retrofit of factory xenons? Because I would be interested to see that done!

I tried a HID kit and I'm not convinced.

I am thinking a full retrofit could be an option as I already have the washer system, but I would need to know if I would just need ballasts and auto levelling or full headlights and auto levelling.

Obviously the price is a huge concern as I don't have money to burn and while the hid kit gave me more visibility, I have concerns about the effect on other road users.

I have it on good authority that simply swapping the headlights for xenon ones is plug and play, and you get to keep the manual level adjuster.

What so I could get the skdoa screw in bulb, the ballasts/starter and fix the wiring and go or are you saying I can just put a HID kit in?

Is that master tech type authority, or just anecdotal if you don't mind me asking?

Obviously for legal reasons you need the adjusters but what I'm trying to work out is do i need whole new headlight units or are they just an adaptation (eg bulb + starter) on the ones I have.

If the former, does EKTA tell how much the light units are?

A VERY reliable source.

I mean if you purchase complete xenon headlight units you can swap them directly. Not sure on the intricacy of converting your current headlights to xenon spec, and I'd never install aftermarket xenons so thats not something I know anything about.

Well if you know a well priced source for the OEM headlights I'm all ears.
