Hi All, my dad has a 53 plate Octavia 1.9 Tdi Estate which he's had for 3 or 4 years now. It has started to show bubbling and rust quite badly on the tailgate where it meets the bottom edge of the rear window. Is there anything Skoda can do... should this be covered by any sort of warranty?? Does he have to have had it from new if it is warranty covered? I've done a search and it seems to be a common problem... which surprises me on a VAG car thats not exactly old, plus my dad keeps it meticulously clean!!

Any help much appreciated.

it should be covered by the paint warranty which is 10 years IIRC, as long as the damage can be shown to not be caused by external influences.
