fabia 1.4tdi starting problem

Featured Replies

we have an intermittent starting problem,it may be fine for weeks and start first time, then for no apparent reason refuses to start. after several attempts then sometimes waiting a few moments the engine will start.no error code comes up,no warning lights come on except on 2 occasions when the low oil pressure light comes on but gone off again whilst cranking the engine, normally the light goes off straight away, has anyone else had this problem am at wits end,

Which engine?

With a modern low cold viscosity oil plus a healthy battery and starter motor, it's quite possible that an engine that's slow to actually fire will build enough oil pressure to extinguish the oil light on the starter. Also, unless people have been playing silly beggers with how they work, the pressure light works purely on how high the pressure is.
