Hey all,

I have a pair of factory fitted "Skoda Auto" roof bars on my VRS. I think they are the ones made by Thule but there is no Thule label on them anywhere. If it makes and difference or means anything to anyone there is a key hole on them with N016 on them but I have no keys to fit this lock.

Other than taking them to the dealer is there a way to get them off?

dont think dealer will be to helpful.

Best bet is to contact thurle direct and ask them for help.

Saying that tho you may be able to get to the allen key bolt and turn it a little at a time?

IIRC N016 should be the key number, you can order a pair of keys through Halfords (approx £9)

With Thule bars when you unlock them you should be able to take off a plastic cover which covers the whole footpack, which in turn should reveal a metal thingy that when turned should loosen the entire bars!

It's a while since I fitted any (used to work at Halfords) but I'm pretty sure that should work!

Black-cat is correct, apart from the 'metal thingy' which is in fact a hex-bolt head (allen key bolt if you will). Undoing this will release the clamp, and then the bars can be lifted off.

You'll have to buy some blanking plates for the holes left behind in the black trim.

Lucky for you Thulde don't make many keys, so you might be able to pick up an odd one on ebay...
