Recall Notice

Featured Replies

At the garage now as my car has been pulled in for a recall notice related to the petrol tank, guess it must be important as I was only here yesterday to get a seat belt checked and they called me this morning to get me to come back in.

Not sure if anyone has more details on it, but its a 20 minute job to fix apparently.

Its not listed on VOSA so far

I checked that as well, but the email only came out to the dealer this morning and as I was with them yesterday he called me straight away.

They are a new dealer and I guess if they can get trade from others for good service, I wouldn't blame them.

I was asked to take my car for checking. In the event someone came out here and took off the cover for the fuel inlet. He found a small polythene cap, which he discarded. It was put on by the sub assembly manufacturer and should have been removed on the production line.

I was told that the dealer had checked all the cars he had sold and mine was only the second he had found with the extraneous fitting.

I need to check mine, how does the "small polythene cap" look like? Any photo to share here?

Sorry, I do not remember what happened to the cap, the chap probably took it away.

It was a natural (almost white) polyethylene blanking cap, about 10mm in diameter and length and top hat shaped. I think its position was upper right to the fuel inlet. He took off the hinged refilling flap to access it.

Very good info. Thanks a lot.

I had a "campaign" listed on my car when it was in last week for the alram fault , dont know what for but i filled the car today without any issue , normally there is a well known problem with the pump clicking off all the time but put the pump in all the way and filled up without issue
