LED Bulbs

Featured Replies

I've replaced nearly all of my interior lights and my rear number plate ones with LED's. No warnings on any of those.

Interior lights are fine its the Exterior ones you get problems with

At the moment the only ones i can find that work on an Octavia are for sidelights but i'm onto it :)

Without trying to sound to ignorant, how do they connect into the socket as I can't see a bayonet on it like a normal bulb?

Also without trying to sound really thick, how is it held in place?

They slot in the same way as normal w5w bulbs into the Sidelight bulb holder

What size/type are the numberplate bulbs? Ta.

Carl,

so the side light holder is a slot and the led doesn't move about inside the lamp as it is held firmly in place?

I take it there is also enough space for it without having to shave it or anything like that?

I was thinking exactly the same thing Gers, what keeps it steady?

Yes

But be warned you will need Long Needle nose pliers to get them out as they are inside the actual headlight bit (you have to remove the back cover to get at them) which is the stupidest design i have ever ever seen

But yes push the 2 sideclips together on the holder pull up/out and the holder & bulb come out complete.

Take out old bulb insert new (check it works first as if it doesn't you need to turn it round as with LED's the polarity only works one way) and jobs a good un

'tis a shame that they don't include a rectifier in the design, then they'd work either way...

As a note for anyone

For the interior map lights W5W type

First I tried the single led type (first pic) - but this would stay on very dim all the time

So I am now using the 5 smd type W5W (second pic) - This is much better, brighter and doesn't stay dim
