I had one replaced/repaired after it started to flash randomly. It was done under warranty.

Of course the puddle lights are covered by the warranty. They are not light bulbs which are designed to fail and be replaced; they are a permanent component pace xenon headlights and as such they are covered by the warranty..

I had my o/s puddle light go up in smoke - literally - and it was replaced under the warranty.

On the MK1 Superb without the facelift wing mirrors, the puddle lamp is LED and is a completely sealed little lamp.

I had one of these go on me and it's not the end of the world, the part is about £20-£25 IIRC from the dealer and it is a L-shaped piece of plastic with the LED lamp sealed into it and a wiring harness attached.

To take the current one out you just pop the wing mirror cover off (top section) and then there are some screws you have to undo to remove the lamp and it's housing, then you just re-fit back the other way and job done.......
