Hi, I have my VRS for about 6 months now and I have been really impressed with it. However the last couple of weeks it has either struggled to start or not started at all. It always turns over no problem but will not fire. Last night i had to get towed home because it just wouldnt start. I tried it this morning and it went straight away. It does have a Scorpion Alarm fitted to it so i dont know if that could have anything to do with it. Does anyone have any idea?

I would not be surprised if it was not the alarm.....

Would be best to get the codes read, do you know anyone with Vagcom? possible cause of poor starting could be Alarm, sparkplugs, engine speed sensor, earth bonding etc. its a big list so codes are a big help.

As the others have said, with the addition of a loose key barrel.

I know on other cars, moving the key about when trying to start it acheived the contact needed.
