wind noise , drivers side

Featured Replies

Hi

I have had wind noise from the drivers side front window ever since I got my Vrs. It only occurs at motorway speeds. Today I was cleaning the car and decided to try and find the cause. However all seems fine around the seal and trim fit seems fine.

Anyone had this and if so how was it fixed?

Thanks

Hi, had exactly the same on my vRS, checked all around the window & door seals even moved the lock catch slightly to pull the door in on frame but no joy. I then found that the wind whistle was infact coming from the split on the door mirror where it folds, a small carefully cut strip of black pvc tape over the gap (unnoticable on my black car) cured it. Only problem is you then cant fold the mirror without stripping the tape off. Not sure if there is more permanent dealer fix on this though.

Good tip, cheers. Have to try that as my drivers door also whines on the autobahn....

:iagree:

I've done the tape trick on both mirrors and it has a significant benficial effect on wind noise heard inside the cbain...
