Skoda Newbie Advice 1.4 TDi

Featured Replies

Hey folks

Have just joined the Skoda family (and this great site) after owning a string a shoddy old Vauxhalls and have to say.. pleased as punch.

Couple of days ago bought a minter '06 Fabia 1.4 TDi 80 in pretty much basic Classic trim (30k miles) but to be honest i'm lovin the wee motor. Punchy performance but seriously easy on the juice. I do up to 200 miles a week with work etc.

Apart from all this i love the odd tweak and basically was looking for a bit of advice on a decent suspension kit and and possibly of remapping for the little 3 pot powerplant.. Has anyone done it and what kind of gains??

Ant help much appreciated :))

Welcome :handshke:

Great little cars, but the best mod would be to buy a VRS

Not into modifying my Skoda, but no doubt some of the tuners will be a long shortly to offer some advice.

I don't know for sure but I am guessing most decent "chippers" could get a few more BHP from the engine. What is it standard: 75-80BHP so I'm guessing 110BHP??

Nice characterful little engine whatever, welcome and enjoy.

AIUI 100BHP is achievable easily with a remap.
