Rich on a Scoured VW Bora

Featured Replies

I had my boss’s car today for a bit of work as she had taken a plastic scourer speechless.gif to her paint in an attempt to remove some bird bombs to only then realise what she had done! She needed it the work done prior to her OH coming back from a work trip so I managed to squeeze her in yesterday morning for some TLC.

I dropped her off at Bicester Village so she could spend some time shopping whilst I then came did the work. Detailer.gif

My Plan was to use menz products to spot repair the major areas and then give the whole car a going over with Dodo NFS to restore some gloss to the paint.

Process Used

Wheels - Megs Wheel Brightener Diluted 2:1 and various brushes

Prewash - Megs Hyperwash

Wash - 2BM CG Maxi Suds II

Clay - Sonus Green and Megs LT

Wash - SBM CG Maxi Suds II

Door shuts cleaned with APC then wiped down with CG Speed Wipe

Body - Inspection and correction using Sonus Yellow pad and Menz S34A

Body - Refined Using Dodo NFS

Body & Glass - Wiped down using CG Speed Wipe

C&C welcome

Yeah nice work Rich, tough morning that one and a car that you could of, if you had the time with it, turn around into a great little project........

 and I thought my post about the wire wool and autosol was sooooo obviously a joke...

yeah it was a tough one! really wanted to spend the day on it getting it really back upto it former glory but time really was against me with it. I was still impressed with the turnaround I got considering the time I spent on it. and her OH is apparently very happy with it all, and apparently love the way the water beads on the car now.

Once people see it and look at the results it's very addictive, a little like yourself, hey?

Oh yes, I still hold you and DW responsible for my addiction!!! but its a good one!

My mum used a bloody scourer pad thing to remove bird muck on her Micra. Thankfully without too much force but it still left obvious scourer scratches. I owe her a full detail soon, but in the short term I was thankfully able to reduce the marks to near zero using T-cut scratch paste stuff.

You dirty *******. :D;)
