Looking to buy and install RNS 510 MDF3!!!

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I'm looking to purchase a RNS510 from ebay an install myself. I have an 07 plate octy vrs pdi estate. Just to clarify on what i have already read, i have a few questions for you :)

1. What is best to buy RNS510 or Columbus?

2. Does anyone know the part number for the new facia? I have duel zone climate and silver facia. My nearest dealer JCB Skoda has gone now, so i need to find another dealer. Anyone recommend dealer near essex?

3. Does the unit need coding to the car? (i have maxidot display) Anyone near Essex willing to have a go with Vag-com? :) For some beer tokens of course :)

I'm sure i will be fine with the install (thanks to vrstu and wega3k for pics etc) :)

Sorry for all the questions. I know most have been asked before, but just want to clarify before i make my purchase :)

Thanks Dave

The RNS510 is Columbus ;)

Stu's site has the fascia details, and coding is needed to get the unit to talk to the maxidot display and show you directions on maxidot.

Yep £525 happy with that price :)

I'm just looking at VRStu's website are the MFD2 facias the same as the MFD3?

1Z0 858 069 L 2AU for dual climate in silver?

Thanks

Dave

Yes, it's the same fascia for MFD2 and MFD3. There seem to be several part numbers for the same part but my silver climatronic fascia is 1Z0858069R2AU.
