Hi all. First i would like to thank everyone for informative posts especially re engine/emissions warning light. Was quite worried as had just driven 1000 miles and light came on with another 200miles to go. Thanks to advice took to local dealer in Slovakia and hooked it up to a VAG-COM, no probs (reckon it was from the bumpiest road i have ever been on in Poland for 30mile as came on just after)

I have read a few posts re servicing/cam belt change and as i have now come upto 80K miles and am due a service, do i need cam belt,water pump and tensioner??? or could i buy the kit and get a local garage worker to fit for me:confused:?.....like many have not got much spare cash so any help with saving money would be appreciated. hopefully i had it replaced when bought it 1year ago, but that might have been the octavia vrs before which got stolen
