I need paint for my alloys!

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where I could get some paint for my mini comps? I've given them a small refurb, just the lip because there were quite a few deep kerb marks, but now I don't have any paint for em! I went to halfords they said they don't do alloy paint, then went to a local paint shop they phoned around for me but they couldn't find anywhere so they said for me to try my local dealer so I asked them and they looked at me blankly and said we don't do things like that. Anyone know where I could get some? It's the original silver I need, along with undercoat and laquer, although I can get laquer from halfords.

I was in halfords last night.. they do a spray can named "aluminium" amongst all there other cans that aren't car brand specific.. not being sure if this was the colour or the intended surface I asked the guy (who, I'm 99.9% sure was wrong and just thinking on his feet) and he said it was meant for aluminium. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Either way, with the right base coat this may work? Think you'll find it very hard to get an exact match though, so may now be a case of doing the whole wheel face? or at least the whole lip?

or at least the whole lip?

Yeah there were kerb marks all around the lip so I'm planning on doing the whole lip anyway  an exact match isn't essential, as long as it looks near enough, they will look a hell of a lot better than they used to!

What happened to the after market wheels you had? Thought the plan was for there to return? You should flog the standard ones you had if they're no longer required cuz I think they're quite a sought after style. :) sorry for strange text lay out, i'm bored at a services so brisking on my phone.

I do have the aftermarket ones on atm but they're too "noticed", I want my car to look a little more subtle plus the ride is a little too bumpy for my liking as theyr 17" (I'm growing up too fast  haha), so mini comps with skoda centres is the way forward methinks :)

As for the standards, I quite like them so I think I'd like to keep them just in case I fancy a change, and it looks quite nice lowered on the standards imo :P but the wolfrace alloys are definitely up sale
