I've just come across a Blaupunkt headunit that my missus bought a while ago and we never got round to installing. Decided as we are going away on the weekend I'd fit it in my Mk1 Octy vRS.

I read up about the swapping over the yellow/red wires and making sure the K-line is disconnected, but the problem is the stereo doesn't come with any sort of ISO harness where I can make the changes.

I don't really want to butcher the cars wiring, so is it possible to buy an ISO to ISO loome from Halfords that I can swap the wires over on? Or do they sell one where the changes are already made?

Halfords (for once) is your friend.

You can either buy a VAG theme'd ISO->ISO connector, that lets you play with the power lines to work with a VAG car, or they may do a Blaupunkt->ISO adapter that plugs straight into the back of the stereo, and directly into the cars ISO lead.

I got a blaupunkt HU about a year ago and apart from swapping the red and yellow wires and disconnecting the k line it was a straight swap no need for an adaptor. I just carefully prised the connectors out of the plug and swapped them around and I also fitted a booster thingy for the aerial which i connected in place of the k line on the back of the stereo (again prised out the connector and fitted the aerial booster in its place). Just needed a couple of small screwdrivers to prise the connectors out with.

I don't really want to mess around with the cars wiring, would rather do it to an adapter for the comfort of my sofa.
