Don't know how I've done it but marked m'alloy

Featured Replies

Been as careful as anything near kerbs since I got the SE, parked in the middle of the road most of the time, but somehow I've managed to put a scuff on one of the front alloys. Mrs Fairzo says it wasn't her anyway so that's good enough for me. It's not too bad but I want it sorting. Anyone tried this scratch doctor stuff or is it best getting it professionally done?

How bad is it?

If it's just a light scrape (superficial rather than structural) then I personally would leave it alone, or perhaps put a coat of clear nail varnish (or laquer if you have any) over it just to protect it from the elements :)

I'm sure it's nothing more than superficial, just a cosmetic thing really, but really bugging me because I know it's there now. Can barely see it on the rim but looks a bit darker along the side of the spoke.

Swap it for the spare?

Or are they just steelies as a spare (my 2001 1.4 has a full size alloy spare)?

I had mine repaired by Chips Away paid for by Kwikfit after they ripped the wheels when having new tyres fitted.

Chips Away have franchises in most areas, and the guy that did mine in West Yorkshire was great. He was an owner of an Evo V so knew I wanted the wheels spot on. It's imposible to tell which wheels were done after he rubbed then down, resprayed and then lacquered them.

Why don't you try a touch of T Cut scratch remover on it and then polish it up?
