hi guys , i bought dashboard from felicia glxi (the one whit the rev counter) so my car is lx whit carb and i plug it in the clock on the new dash don't work and the rev counter is showing 3500rpm when I flor it and soon as a step from gas pedal it fall down to 0 .... is there any difference in the wiering loom or this dash is busted

Has the 1.3 even got a tacho sender? the rev counter is for the 1.6 model bud. Very different. Unless im mistaken?

1.3's do have rev counters. I forget exactly where the wire for it comes from but I'm sure it's in the Haynes. I believe others have had issues with rev counters doing similar and have been unable to fix it.

Yup! It's a yellow wire from the ECU on the 1.3. My Rev counter doesn't work... mine shoots up to 4500 then drops to zero.

Think it is quite common on fellys for it not to work but as said if you have a carb felicia it won't have an ECU and therefore won't have a signal to pick up on for the rev counter.

but ... carb models for rev's uses impuls from ignition coils (that's -12v) i have aftermarket one and it works just fine ...so i want to know on what power (impulses) does the skoda one works ?? cause that would fix the problem ... can somebody look in haynes please

end forgot to say ... the clock on the rev counter doesnt show time it just shows cuple of dashes

the signal from the dizzy will be a hall effect signal.... normally live (12v) then pulses to 0v

can I make that extra signal from the coil somehowe or boost it or smth. else

A sneaky way of doing it can be to wrap a + sensor wire around the ht lead, the amount of turns has to be tweaked but a basis is around 8 / 9 turns. You then need to ground the other side to the frame or something.

Another is to tap into the signal to the coil, but i dont know how the tacho system on the clocks will handle that. Ive done it on bike clocks though.

there must be a nother imlups that i can pick but i cant find it ...i must keep looking :D o somehow inser aftermatket one in dashbord instade of original one

the wire for the rev counter comes from the ecu, so if you have a carb model you wont have an ecu

the wire that "tells" the rpm comes from the coil in carb ( i have one) models
