air bag

Might be worth poping down to the dealer.. I know if you bought a new one you could spec in a passanger deactivation switch.. was a key barrel in the glove box and you got a warning light on the switch bank.... might be a retro-fit-able item.

Hello polo6n400BHP,

You don't say what year car you have, to pinpoint any possibilities.

I have a 2005 Fabia VRS and do have a deactivation barrel switch in the passenger glove box, as a standard fitting, for the front passenger airbag.

Looks like some models do, some don't I guess.

Personally, I would feel it safer, infant was in the back, where mum/dad could also sit to oversee child??

Good-luck. Ian. 25/07/2009 :D:thumbup:

With the octy mk1 and no glovebox switch, it was possible for the dealer to deactivate the passenger airbag by changing a setting in the computer.
