Hi there,

After 19 years of owning various Italian cars I'm afraid reality has well & truly bitten with the implosion of my Alfa 156's gearbox.

After an expensive repair (not as expensive as it would have been had I not acquired a breaker's gearbox) enough's enough and I've just bought my very first Skoda - a 2005 2.0 TDi Octavia in Ambiente spec.

I never thought it'd be my kind of car but as soon as I experienced the shove from the turbo I was sold..!

I'll probably make a couple of changes - upgrading the power and fitting slightly bigger alloys top of the list but for now I'll just enjoy not hanging on every single noise the car makes and expecting the worst..
