Misfire when cold

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Some help please.

When my car is cold i get a misfire which causes the car to stutter when i put my foot down slightly say between 2000-3000rpm but it's fine higher up the revs. The misfire causes the the little engine light to flash and now it's stayed on. Once up to the 90 degree mark it's spot on and goes like it should. I suppose i could take it to between 4-5k rpm first thing but i like to warm the oil up steadily for the first few miles.

I have vcds coming but would anyone like to hesitate a guess?

Coilpack on it's way out probably.

Call out Skoda Assist. Not worth your engine bay setting on fire for something that can be fixed at the roadside by the RAC man.

It may not be a coilpack but it's worth checking

Is there a mileage limit on that?

From what i remember its 2 Year manufacturer Warranty and 1 Year dealer warranty.

Check your warranty info but im sure it's up to 60,000 miles

Ok hooked up vcds and got

001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys: Incorrect Flow

P0441 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

misfire on cylinder 3

random misfire.

These happen when cold.

I did some logs when it had warmed up and never saw one misfire. Do we think it's something to do with the pcv system?
