Yeah, looks like it's going to be a fantastic weekend, i think i'll head down friday night.

You'll catch me running around in a jabba top with a load of radios strapped around me lol.

Be sure to say hi, i'll show you around the beast of a leon!

Just bumping this up as the event is this weekend..

:)

Kev

i like the fact that by supporting you mean sharing the drive!

Honestly i dunno how Luke copes! :haha:

  • Author

Nope, definately supporting. Luke hasn't been called in for any races yet.

We provide vehicle support, pit crew, datalogging, engine management, comms etc. Basically just helping the running of the car and providing a crew whilst the car's out on track.

So there, :P

Strange, there's obviously a mix up at their office. To confirm, it'll be both brothers Rob Carvell & Ian Carvell driving this weekend :)

if our clubstand can be promoted as "Bristol Skoda" then a wrong driver name hardly suprises me!

  • Author

Bristol Skoda? Hmmm, a rather big dealership that likes modifying then? :)

Went over to do some bits on the Leon last night, still makes me smile every time i see it. Rob's busy making a monster of a front splitter at the moment, i really hope it's ready for the weekend :)

just a quick update for anyone who's watching the race tomorrow. Practice and qualifying went really well, got a bit scared my a misfire that appeared during the last part of qualifying which ended up nursing the car around for the last lap. After a good look around the car it looks like we had a loose plug on the emerald ecu. Sent the car out for qualifying, ian driving, set some good times and got a positive response from changes made to the chassis earlier on, half way through qualifying we pulled the car into the pits swapped drivers over to rob and changed front tires to scrub a new set in. Rob set a good time of 1.12.44 and put us 3rd in class. All resting for tomorrow's activities, look forward to the race tomorrow :)

That's a new lightweight patented design... No expense spent ;)

So what happened in the racing then? Does the silence mean it wasn't so good? Hope not.

  • Author

Yeah, it was blistering untill a failure of some sort on lap 22. We've been through the datalogger and everything looked fine.

Rob Carvell (the owner) is stripping everything at the moment to try get to the bottom of the sudden loss of power. I'll report back once we know more.

Big bugger...

Kev
