elegance the best bet?

Featured Replies

I was gawking into a brand new 2009 Maroon Superb last week on holiday, Cream leather interior, Parking sensors F&B, lovely big alloys would that be a L&K or Elegance chaps? Just out of interest for future reference. Very nice looking close up.

Maroon is taboo - it's Rosso Brunello :)

Infact I would rather not have auto wipers, and auto dipping mirror. When i'm driving, I decide when I want something to happen.

Having both, I can say that:

  • Dimming mirror: this is nice if someone drives up close behind you at night, you don't feel like someone is shining a torch in your face. One minor issue is when there are lots of cars about and someone is right up close behind you, the dimmed mirror can make it slightly more difficult to have a good feel for what's around you at any given instant, e.g. if you need to lane-change on a motorway.
  • Auto wipers: I would really miss these. Once you get the sensitivity right, they work really well. In very changeable conditions, you'd otherwise be fiddling with the wiper setting every minute or two, it'd either be wiping a dry screen for nothing or sitting still in a sudden downpour!

This said, I do agree with your "I decide" philosophy in another way; I don't really feel the need to get the auto-lights option. I think the key difference though is apart from going through tunnels etc, turning lights on/off is something that you rarely need to change. Wipers though, are very different, the rain can seem to be constantly changing sometimes...

I agree not my favourite car colour - in the Superb it'd be black or silver. Trying to highlight the model type. Is that the actual name of the colour.

yes
