Featured Replies

driving into work thismrning i noticed that there was a small run of water down the passenger side plastic trim next to the door, below the glovebox area

where would the water be getting in? windscreen, door? is there a vent or water way they could be blocked?

many thanks

The water running off the windscreen disappears down a gap where the windscreen meets the wing. If it is blocked, then it will run into the engine bay next to the battery. Check the sound insulation just next to the battery and see if that is wet or not. It should be dry.

so will the water be getting in through a gromit from the engine bay or under the windscreen glass?

ive given up trying to find where the leaks come from in my felly, the interior is getting very ratty as i have a habit of using her as my daily driver, a work horse and recreational vehicle.

plus i like that damp musty smell.... :/

Well if it is getting into the engine bay near the battery, it could be entering the cockpit via a gromit or a rusty seam.

Often the windscreen seals leak - so the windscreen has to be taken out to resolve  Mine didn't leak until just before I got rid of it luckily. I think rust also can appear under the windscreen seals which affects whether it leaks or not. When you have the windscreen removed have a look at the ledge it mounts onto to see how rusty it is and if it can be sanded and treated.
